When you suspect a gas leak you should immediately vacate the property. Don't make phone calls, don't turn off light switches - just immediately leave. Don't start your vehicle if it's near the property either.
Once at a safe distance you need to contact your local gas company (gas supplier). They will shut-off your gas service and confirm it's an actual leak. They will then inform you that you need to contact a gas line repair specialist.
Be Prepared! Have the emergency phone number of your gas service provider stored in your cell phone.
